India Championship I've been a bit busy this week doing other things and have just realised I've only mentioned one golfer on X and that was Yuvraj Sandhu at the ridiculous price of 1000/1 + on Monday. As I alluded to - probably just a value loser but playing at home on a course he has been 4/6/w/3 on his home tour at a lesser level means he is well equipped for this tough challenge. His form in August when they resumed play in India read 5/1/1 but I have to say it is a huge ask. The only other player I have backed is Alex Levy who often signals a win with a return to form and he was 9th at the tree lined Open de Espana last week. It's been seven years since he last tasted victory and he even dropped down to the Challenge our last year but regained his card - partly due to finishing 7th and 4th here in India. He was often seen at his best on his travels with a brace of wins in China and one in Morocco and I thought 250/1 + ew was fair, also done 400+ on Betfair and if you wanted to take a chunk of players out the market odds of around 66/1 ew for top Continental European are very fair.
Western Australian Open It's a "home" game for Western Australian Braden Becker - he even has won it in 2022 and been 4th and 8th - all different courses. He did miss the cut here in 2018 but the course has been revamped since then. He is a bit hit and miss but in this neck of the woods he often plays well - he won twice earlier in the year in Western Australia on the pro-am tour and been 4th and 9th in the WA PGA championship. I just thought he was worth a few quid e/w around the 100/1 mark (NB starts midnight tonight.
Champions - Dominion Energy Charity Classic It has taken Chad Campbell a while to find his feet on this tour bar an 8th on debut last year but recent signs have been encouraging. His last two starts have seen him finish 8th and 13th and in those events he has started fast - 1st and 2nd after the opening round. It's pure speculation that he will take to the course as it's his debut but he should have fond memories of the location as he won on the Korn Ferry tour just down the road here in Richmond. He's around the 175/1 mark with most books and 80-100 for FRL is worth a few quid bearing in mind his recent fast starts
