A few people have enquired why I stopped the French racing service – especially when it had been profitable. Indeed it had – ROI of 15% over a five year spell not bad backing into morning markets of 3% a runner. It was worthwhile doing whilst I had 25-30 clients but that number dwindled to single figures., when you balanced out who was willing to pay with who could actually get on. It became quite a tie having to be ready to go at set times, often twiddling my thumbs but also waiting for a full set of prices I would miss the price I wanted myself.

I was only doing it to supplement my betting income as I am very restricted with how much and with whom I can bet. I also made the cardinal error of expanding the markets to UK and Irish races for four months last year – the UK stuff was awful but the Irish was quite profitable hence I still do it now.

I have also got back into golf betting properly this year after a bit of a hiatus – I prefer the small tours and FRL betting but in running has been profitable on the main tours. The problem with in running again is that there is no liquidity on Betfair anymore and I am limited with the books and the same goes with the smaller tours. The other week when I put up Steve Webster for the Legends tour when he won all I could get on was £20 ew 55/1 even when 60/1 was there.

Then at the weekend we had the marathon bets – 9/1 the winner and 12/1 the loser but I think you can probably guess they weren’t big winners – not like in the old days!

This is the reason I have started up the “tip the tipper” though I really should call it “tip the tipster”! Basically the vast majority of my bets will be put up on X – hopefully time permitting with an explanation. I have been doing it for 6 weeks now and it’s been nicely profitable for anyone that follows, all I ask in return is a donation via Paypal if you happen to win which I think is pretty fair

India Championship I've been a bit busy this week doing other things and have just realised I've only mentioned one golfer on X and that was Yuvraj Sandhu at the ridiculous price of 1000/1 + on Monda
