I’ll keep this fairly brief as to be honest I would rather be sat out in the garden enjoying the sun! At the bottom I will post my Betfair book position.

Firstly Sahith Theegala who I talked about on Twitter last night, whilst he is a newly turned pro he has a wealth of experience here at Torrey Pines in the World Junior Golf Championships. He first won here aged six and won again four years later and in his final appearance in 2015 he lost by a stroke to Niemann. The native Californian reached number three ranked amateur in the world with all four of his collegiate wins coming in his home state. He has been travelling all over trying to Monday qualify this year and finally has had a break at home after got through US Open qualifying. Of course it’s a tough ask but I can easily see him outplaying his odds and have backed him in a variety of markets, even upping my stake to £55 @ the 1000/1 Exchange price.

Next up is Branden Grace who won for a second time on the PGA tour earlier this year in Puerto Rico adding to his Harbour Town victory and he really does seem better on the coast. He already has five top six finishes in Majors including two in this one and was 4th when last seen @ The Memorial. I have backed him 125/1 ew with 8 & 10 places and 200 on Betfair.

If you are looking for a Rocco Mediate style performance then maybe Jimmy Walker is your man – he even emulated Mediate by finishing 6th in the Memorial on his final start before the US Open. He has a wealth of experience here @ Torrey with four top ten finishes in the Farmers Insurance. I’ve had a small bet @ 700 and small e/w around the 400 mark.

Lastly I was on Kevin Streelman in the PGA Championship where he traded quite low before falling away a bit – that was the best performance in a Major by the journeyman pro. I have certainly not got carried away with this one with a mere £20 @ 220 on Betfair.

Grace +10,000 Streelman +4400 Walker +10,500 Theegala +55,000 Field -150
