Losing but Winning

I keep a tally each week of Profit and Loss - these days this solely consists of three words and a number - Golf, Horses and Other and then hopefully a number with a + next to it. That's all I need really - how those figures are arrived at isn't totally relevant anymore, I pretty much know what I'm good and bad at. So if someone was to say I'll give you a four figure sum at the end of the week I would bite their hand off but it normally means 60 + hour weeks to get there!

Last week was hugely profitable but the tiny little nuances of profit (and a lot of loss!) made a huge difference. On the horses my picks continued to fill 2nd place, I think I've now had five in the past two weeks - all at big prices, including the Irish gamble one from 25/1 into 7/2. I must admit that one got me worried - my automatic thought was - what if it wins? How will the couple of accounts I still possess react to me backing that one? It shouldn't be in my mindset but it is - which is why I started the Paypal thing tipping me if you made a profit - I don't know how much longer my accounts will exist. https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/sportsbettingindex

Last weeks golf was probably even more up and down - Higgo I traded down to odds on on Betfair yet Fisk holed a 40 footer and then Higgo missed from three feet - tiny margins. The list was endless last week - there was the odd up - Olesen birdied the last two to tie for the lead top Continental Europe 40/1 and grab a shared place 150/1. I put up Sterne 80/1 ew in running for a full place but I had also backed him 60/1 ew without the Ryder Cuppers - the bogey at the last cost me a fair few quid as he tied in that market.

I have no idea what's to come this week or how the profit or loss will be arrived at but just a figure written down - hopefully again with a + next to it!

Cheers

Ian

First to admit it has been a frustrating run of late the places just about keep you ticking over but it’s the wins that provide the profit plus the trades help. Higgo has now let us down twice when in
