Joe Ozaki
The Japanese player qualified for the Champions tour with a 3rd place finish at the Q school. He won twice on the Japanese tour this season - no mean feat for a man of his age and he used to play well on the PGA tour - indeed it was not many years ago he was competitive on the main US tour.

Possibly the only "serious alternative" to the "gay cowboy" movie that is yet to go on general release.Spielbergs' film is likely to get talked about a lot in the coming months and it will be a surprise if it doesn't contend for the main award.

We wren't going to put anymore bets up on this in opposition to the hot favourite but sometimes money coming for a selection means a lot and some US books have cut this unlikely winner to 2/1 in the last few days!

The young Czech player won the Paris Masters series in October and is definitely improving. We think the key is probably finding someone who can beat Federer though! - and apart from Safin here last year - Berdych was the last player to beat him on a hard court.

This young South African could well be the next in a long line of talented players wanting to follow in Els' footsteps. He had gone off the boil a bit of late after a run of finishes in his homeland that went 5/1/2/2/1 but played well last week. If you look at course form at this difficult links course look nof urther than Aiken who won here last year by 7 shots with -5 in a small SA event.
