We
weren't going to have another bet in Wales until Ladbrokes put this
price up. The well travelled South African is a multiple winner
at home and is putting together some decent form in Europe this
season, a 2nd place in Madeira and 6th in Italy + he was 4th going
into the final rd in Ireland and 5th after rd 1 at the Forest of
Arden - this price is way too big. |

A
surprisingly large price about a player who has won already this
season and whose age could be in his favour in an event where patience
on the greens will be required. His best form in the last couple
of years was on a par 70 course and the par 69 setup here could
also help. |

It's
been a long time since he won - 1996 to be precise! but his recent
form statswise has been impressive. His last 5 starts have led to
an all round ranking of 10/2/mc/9/3, and if you discount his 78
in rd 3 on Saturday he would have been right up there. We believe
he is about to hit form and why not here, in an event (difft course)
where he has finished 2nd before. |

The
amateur star who turned pro last year stays put in his home state

the cut last week and only needs to show some of the form he played
in the Masters for the last 2 years to be a force on this tour. |

Our
last bet in the contest (it always pays to cover a few angles) is
on a contestant that many judges think should be in the running.
With the 5 places on offer she is worth a small bet. |

Having
backed the winner of Miss World last year we just have to have a
go at another contest. We tipped the country of Peru last time and
are doing the same again as she has been impressing many in all
the preliminaries so far. There has been quite a bit of money for
European countries but the fact renains that not one has won since
1990. |

is always interesting when a bookmaker ventures into a market they
do not normally price up - and here we see a mistake pricing one

The
talented young South African player has performed with great credit
so far this year. Since winning the Madrid Open at the back end
of the last year he has come out and had a top 5 in Italy, then
a tied 3rd against a world class field in the Johnnnie Walker and
then top 10 in Ireland last week, he really should not be 100/1
this week. |

A
selection placed purely on what might be an ability to play this
"inland links" course and certainly not current form.
Bland won on such a course comfortably on the Challenge Tour in
2001 and his best result so far this year came at Royal Melbourne
- a course which Montgomery used to help him create this one. Add
in the fact that he had his best ever finish in the Irish Open when
he lost in the playoff and he is worth a very small risk. |
