Saulnier to bt Rusedski

We believe Expekt have the wrong fav here. Saulnier has been in very good form on the North American circuit and his level has certainly been higher than the Brit.

Alonso - podium finish

Both Renaults got lucky in qualifying yesterday, running on intermediate tyres at precisely the correct time. Trulli benefitted most driving the perfect lap but it is Alonso who has been the more impressive in recent Grand Prix. There is a chance with his lightning start that by 1st corner he will be lying 2nd and we take him to confirm that position throughout the race

Olympics Mens Marathon

Championship marathons are notoriously difficult to find the winners of but we will have a small bet on the Spaniard who on his marathon debut in Japan earlier this year ran a very fast time

Olympics Jumping - Team & Individual

France & Ludger Beerbaum

Both these bets revolve around the withdrawal of German Marcus Ehning whose horse is injured - which seems to have escaped the notice of Bet and Win. Basically it makes the price of his fellow German competitor much shorter whilst giving France a better chance in the team competition

Nieminen to bt Horna

Surprised to see this as a pick match. Nieminen has missed much of 2004 through injury but away from the clay, he has by far the better form. He will be hungry to finish the year well and we dont think his commitment will be in question.

Melzer to bt Andreev

North America has been very kind to Melzer in 2004. He has commented that he likes playing there and his results have said as much. He has taken the scalp of Andreev twice already this year, once in United States, and we make him a slight fav this evening

Olympics - Mens 400mH

Taylor is defending champion but has been in the doldrums since Sydney 2000. However in the US trials he ran his fastest time for nearly 4 years in finishing 2nd - in fact it was the joint 5th fastest time in the world this year and Sanchez has recorded 2 of those faster times - we will bet without the likely winner Sanchez though

The young Australian has taken the world of triathlon by storm in the last 12 months and could surprise some the older more seasoned campaigners

Olympics Womens 5000m

Ochichi has won four events on the track this year - two at 3000m and two at 5000m, including setting a world best at the lower distance. She also set a world 5000m best ever on the road in March - she shouldn't be this big - indeed Stan James go 6/1!

Olympics - Mens Coxless Pairs

The Australian pair - Drew Ginn and James Tomkins are reigning world champions and having been pre-selected 9 months early have trained in hiding for this event.The 38-year-old Tomkins has been part of all of the nine gold medals won by Australia in the World Championships or Olympic Games in the last fifty years. Younger teammate, 29-year-old Ginn, has been part of the last four.On our reckoning they should be nearer favourites

Sluiter to bt Ginepri

Sluiter has won two very tight matches this week and will surely push Ginepri all the way. The American has very good hardcourt form to his name but not recently. Three set victories over Corretja and Levy do not convince us that he is back to form.

We make Mirnyi a slight favourite for this. He has been very competitive these last 4 weeks and as his Davis Cup record shows, he plays with great National pride. Fish is only recently getting over an injury

Rochus to beat Philippoussis

Wimbledon apart Philippoussis is having another very poor year. Rochus always gives his all, something we can never count on his opponent doing and having already beaten him this year, we think the little Belgian can do it again

Olympics Mens 200m Freestyle

Seeing as Thorpe is about a 2/5 shot to win the event outright Bodog would appear to have got this matchup badly priced!

Acasuso to bt Ferrer

Since coming back from a mid season illness Acasuso has found it tough to show the form he was in early 2004. That said he has faced some tough match fit opponents and in the main been thereabouts. The pricing today suggests an easy victory for Ferrer. we are not so sure!

Olympics Womens Heptathlon

Kluft is a worthy favourite in this event - the young Swedish athlete should in theory win easily - but is she a 1/16 shot in an event where problems such as injury or one bad event can occur? - probably not, and Centrbet agree with us with a 1/3 quote. The question is - who to oppose her with - and we have chosen the two athletes who finished behind her at Gotzis. Sotherton is a British athlete who has improved massively this year and Dobrynska is a young Ukranian who has stormed through the world rankings and is rapidly improving. The outright prices at Ladbrokes are worthy of a small bet but in the betting without Kluft and Barber both athletes stand a good chance of winning.

Carraz to beat Johansson

Johansson played his best tournament since returning from injury last week getting to the semis of Toronto. We must remember that he did in fact lose in final qualifying and also that he finished that semi final less than 100%. Carraz has been in fine form in North America.

Roddick to bt Federer

The best 2 players in the world square off today and normally no play would be the call. This week Roddick has been the more impressive (indeed Federer has looked awful at times) and given his record in North America over the last 3 years, a small bet on the American is called for
