Making a Profit from
Champions League Football

Next week on the 23rd and 24th November sees the latest matches in this year’s Champions League programme and here at SBI we have been doing some investigating as to how to make money on the competition.

We have always maintained that the way to profit in your betting is to specialise in certain fields, as we believe it is only possible to have a greater knowledge than an odds compiler if you specialise in a certain area.

Our Football Betting Index service is proving that looking at one area of football betting, ie Scottish League and Cup, can be lucrative – but what about a competition as big as the Champions League?

The key fact to start with is the sheer number of bookmakers around the globe offering betting markets, meaning that it’s nowhere near as difficult to get bets on. We set about looking for a service which gave out Champions League tips and found plenty that offered some bets, but the only one that specialised was

Whether you’re interested in betting on Match Results, Correct Scores and Goal Scorers, or tackling the more specialist markets like Corners, Bookings and Asian Handicaps, they have lots of key statistics and advice. This has led them to produce bets following a series of proven money-making trends.

Their results for this season so far are solid with a 70% strike rate (19 winning bets from 27 given) and a profit of 7.91 points. This follows on from their good past season results:
07/08 +14.5 pts
08/09 +10.7 pts
09/10 +33.0 pts

Whilst they do charge £49 for their service for a whole season, it will hardly break the bank, PLUS they give you a Free 28 day trial before taking any payment – for full details click here.

We have also been looking around trying to find which bookmakers are the best to use when placing your Champions League bets – two stood out as offering great special offers. Unibet will refund all losing Correct Score, Halftime/Fulltime and First Goalscorer/Last Goalscorer bets on any Champions League match that finishes 0-0 and that is a very generous offer. Also with Bet365, if you place a pre-match accumulator of 3 or more selections combining teams in Champions League matches and it’s successful, they will give you a bonus from 5% to 100%.
